Network Quality Measurement
Measuring mobile network quality of experience has been an important topic for a few years. This is increasingly so with the advent of 5G an autonomous, self driving vehicles where latency – the time for a network to react and transmit information - can mean success of failure for a project.
What is in principle is a simple task, is complicated by the varied of handsets, measurement tools and even Sim card profiles in use.
Operators have traditionally used a mixture of highly expensive automated tools and their associated post processing software to generate reports on network performance. Missing information is supplemented by manual collection methods.
No one systems can provide the information required by a large converged network operator.
